We currently seek a Director of Championships at our National Office in Indianapolis, IN.

This position is responsible for the general administration and coordination of specified NCAA championships initiatives business and operations systems and processes, leadership and execution of strategic initiatives in championships and acting as a chief aid to the senior vice-president for championships. These services include research, analysis, and development of recommendations and reports that will specifically aid the championships in improving operating effectiveness, fiscal and resource efficiency, and developing the value of the championships as they relate to corporate and broadcast partner and net revenue generation.

Responsibilities:

  • Business and Resources oversight - this will include planning, monitoring, and pre- and post-analysis of expenses, revenues, and operations of the championships. This effort will specifically focus on the championships that can generate significant revenue or corporate /broadcast values to significantly manage/reduce expenses.
  • Manage strategic initiatives for Championships including business, finance and operations/logistics planning and execution of projects and initiatives for more efficient use of resources, staff and effectiveness toward achieving goals; direct and coordinate performance management, measurement and evaluation of 84 championships.
  • Business and financial oversight and coordination for all Championship site evaluations, negotiations, and recommendations to assist with achievement of Championships group goals. Also will play a key role in development of new site strategies and execution of these concepts.
  • Coordination and oversight for financial measure report to divisional cabinets and committees - all performance and operational measures for 84 championship operations.
  • Coordinate biennial budget reports and proposals with divisional directors - this will include overseeing that preparation coordination between divisions and assure request and reallocation proposals support the goals and strategies of the national office and championships themselves.
  • Secondary liaison to Division I Men's Lacrosse. Will attend championship with accountability for fan-related experiences, preparation and concerns.
  • Supervise staff that will execute ticketing processes, procedures, and business operations for all 84 championships. There may be other centralized business functional identified to also coordinate and/or supervise.
  • Coordinate hiring and training of administrative and non-administrative departmental personnel.
  • Attend meetings and other activities and functions to represent any part of the Championships groups as identified, as appropriate or needed.
  • Supervise departmental activities as directed by the Senior Vice-President.

    Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and Master's degree (essential) in business, finance, or organizational leadership and development.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in profit or not-for-profit organizations at management or professional level.
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills. Experience in development of solutions to complex and multi-faceted issues or problems.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative in working independently or with others to complete projects or areas of responsibility.
  • Experience in business and organizations processes and operations
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated oral and written ability to express concepts and ideas.
