MOAA Elects Officers and Board of Directors for 2008-09

Cleveland, OH - The members of the Minority Opportunities Athletic Association (MOAA) have chosen Clint Bryant, director of athletics at Augusta State University, to serve for a third year as chair of the Association. "MOAA has had a great two years since its affiliation with NACDA," stated Bryant. "We look forward to our continued partnership in the years to come." Stan Johnson, president of Stan Johnson & Associates and MOAA executive director; Sharon Beverly, director of athletics and physical education at Vassar College; Sean Frazier, associate director of athletics at the University of Wisconsin; and Charlie Whitcomb, vice provost for academic personnel and administration at San Jose State University were also selected to continue their tenure as officers. The Association's Board of Directors include Jane Claiborne, assistant director multicultural student programs and services, College of Charleston; Lori Ebihara, assistant commissioner, Big 12 Conference; Alfreeda Goff, senior associate commissioner, Horizon League; Dan Guerrero, director of athletics, UCLA; Rudy Keeling, commissioner, Eastern College Athletic Conference; Floyd Kerr, director of athletics, Morgan State University; Warde Manuel, director of athletics, University at Buffalo; Mary McElroy, director of athletics, Georgia State University; Dell Robinson, associate commissioner, Mid-American Conference; and Stan Wilcox, deputy director of athletics, University of Notre Dame. About MOAA: MOAA promotes equitable employment opportunities for minorities in the athletics industry through the exchange of ideas, the creation of networking opportunities and the advocation of an increase in employment for minorities in athletics administration positions at all levels of the sports industry. The association also promotes cultivating a sports environment that supports the values necessary to accept aspiring professionals from all walks of life. MOAA is partnered with NACDA. In its 44th year, NACDA is the professional and educational association for more than 6,500 college athletics administrators at more than 1,600 institutions throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. More than 2,200 athletics administrators annually attend the NACDA Convention. Additionally, NACDA administers 10 professional associations for the separate business units that report directly to the athletics director.
