Cleveland, Ohio -- The members of the Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association (D1-AAA ADA) have chosen Jack McDonald, director of athletics at Quinnipiac University, to serve as president for 2008-09.

"First I want to thank outgoing President Lee Reed, athletics director at Cleveland State for leading our membership during the 2007-08 year," stated McDonald. "I look forward to serving as the I-AAA ADA President during the upcoming year."

Also elected to serve DI-AAA ADA for the 2008-09 term were 1st Vice President Jean Lenti Ponsetto, director of athletics at DePaul University; 2nd Vice President Judy Rose, director of athletics at the University of North Carolina Charlotte; 3rd Vice President Brian Quinn, director of athletics at California State University Fullerton; and Secretary Joel Thirer, director of athletics at Binghamton University. Ken Kavanagh, director of athletics at Bradley University continues to serve as treasurer.

Additionally, Pat Meiser, director of athletics at the University of Hartford; Vic Cegles, director of athletics at Long Beach State University; Bruce Rasmussen, director of athletics at Creighton University; and Pat Nero, commissioner of the America East Conference were added to the Executive Committee.

About Division I-AAA ADA: Now in its eighth year, the Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association's mission is to enhance initiatives common to its Division I-AAA membership (the 94 Division I institutions that do not sponsor football), in particular, aspects related to their flagship basketball programs. The Association is administered by NACDA, now in its 44th year. NACDA is the professional and educational association for more than 6,500 college athletics administrators at more than 1,600 institutions throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. More than 2,200 athletics administrators annually attend the NACDA Convention. Additionally, NACDA administers 11 professional associations for the separate business units that report directly to the athletics director.
